Just in the US

It's hard to believe that Katrina could cause such misery and choas in New Orleans. One news site quotes:
“This is a national emergency. This is a national disgrace,” he said. “FEMA has been here three days, yet there is no command and control. We can send massive amounts of aid to tsunami victims, but we can’t bail out the city of New Orleans.” I agree with this statement. I read an article today quoting a Western University prof who agreed the dire situation could have been prevented. This was a disaster because the state didn't plan ahead. It's tough to think that spending a few dollars to protect the city would be worth it in the future. As this example illustrates it is. I hope the many people stuck in the dome will be rescued soon. Hopefully people will realise that the police, ambulances, buses are there to help. No more shootings! It's amazing how evolved us humans think we are. When humans are pressed you realised what we're really made of.
