Queen of Oak Bay

Poor ferry passengers. People have been aboard the ferry named Queen of Oak Bay in Horseshoe Bay (off the coast of BC) since 10 am this morning. They are getting off the boat shortly (it's around 5pm). Almost 9 hours since the incident. The ferry lost power and went into the dock. It gently glided into the marina boats. There were no injuries reported. There are 544 passengers aboard. Unfortunately this may affect travel for the long weekend. The ferry has only been back in order for a couple of weeks now. It had a 30 million dollar refit lift (mainly cosmetic). Ummm always excitement. 1 hour and 30 min ride turns into 10 + hours. Sad...sad... Let the long weekend begin.

We saw that ferry when we went skiing at Cypress. The best water story that I think could have happened to use was the Lady Duck sinking in Ottawa. That would have been nuts if we had decided to take the tour that day!
